For expanding food brands looking to scale, relying on multiple small-cabinet or countertop systems creates severe operational bottlenecks, unpredictable batch variables, and high labor overhead. The FD24 Commercial Heat Pump Dehydrator solves these constraints by consolidating your throughput into a single, highly energy-efficient system built for commercial growth.
Engineered for business owners, production managers, and food scientists who are ready to move into true commercial production, this system bridges the gap between small-scale trial runs and scalable commercial food dehydration. With the capacity to process up to 1,600 pounds of wet product per batch and remove up to 24 pounds of moisture per hour, the FD24 delivers the definitive consistency, throughput, and process control that growing businesses need to maximize product quality.
Furthermore, easy to use controls adapt to any production setup, whether utilized for primary low-temperature dehydration, custom recipe modeling, or as a dedicated finishing stage to efficiently set topicals, marinades, and seasonings.

The FD24 is well-suited for a wide range of food products, including fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, pet treats, and meat products like jerky. Its 80°–160°F drying range covers the majority of commercially dried foods, and the auxiliary heat mode extends to 180°F for products requiring a validated thermal kill step.
Our FD24 is our most compact industrial model, designed to hold 8 standard baker's racks.
Regarding used equipment, Nyle does not sell used or refurbished units directly. However, because our customers often upgrade to larger systems as they grow, we occasionally facilitate connections between customers looking to sell their current Nyle unit and those looking to purchase one. Please contact our sales team to see if we are currently aware of any available units in the field.
The FD24 accommodates 8 racks and 160 trays, with a recommended wet product load of 800 to 1,600 pounds per batch. Actual batch size will vary depending on product type, moisture content, and tray loading. Evenly distributed, single-layer loading across all trays gives the best results.
Yes. The FD24 includes an auxiliary kill-step heat mode that pushes chamber temperature to 180°F, above the thresholds required by USDA guidelines for processed meat and poultry products. Combined with the multi-step scheduling system's Validation mode, which holds temperature and humidity at defined setpoints for a specified time before advancing, operators can run and document kill steps as part of a HACCP-compliant process.
Expert installation is included in the FD24's starting price. Nyle's team handles commissioning to ensure the system is operating correctly before handing it over to the operator. Installation requirements include appropriate electrical service, adequate clearance around the unit for airflow and serviceability, and a level floor with proper drainage for the condensate. Nyle provides siting guidance as part of the installation process.
