Its 145 lbs/hr removal rate keeps cycle time competitive without overspending on heating capacity you can’t use, and the heat pump’s energy story is most flattering at this scale: lower kWh per pound of finished product, no exhaust to engineer, no makeup-air handler fighting your HVAC.

The MD120 doubles the chamber length and the load capacity (4,800–9,600 lbs per batch), and the DH-225 is sized to keep up. With a 225 lbs/hr removal rate, it pulls moisture out of the chamber air fast enough to keep drying time from ballooning at the larger load.
Producers who run the MD120 with a DH-225 heat pump are typically operations that have proven their product, are running multiple batches a week, and want the lowest possible operating cost per pound. The math compounds quickly at this volume.
