The MD-Series Modular Dehydrator splits into two families based on the loading area: the 100-Series uses a narrower 8-foot-wide loading area, while the 200-Series doubles that to 16 feet wide. Same chamber architecture, same controls, same heating options, the loading area is the dividing line.
Going with the 100-Series means you get a chamber depth of 13’4″ total (8′ of usable loading depth) and the ability to slot into rooms where 16′ of width simply isn’t available. For producers retrofitting an existing facility, or anyone whose floor plan is more long-and-narrow than wide-and-shallow, that’s a meaningful difference.
There are two chamber sizes within the 100-Series, both pulled directly from the MD-Series sales sheet:
MD110: the entry point.
MD120: the same chamber, twice as long.
Both share the same 12’0″ total height and the same 6’0″ interior loading height, so the racks and trays are interchangeable across the line. If you start on an MD110 and graduate to an MD120 down the road, your existing carts come with you.
One of the most important things to understand about the 100-Series, and the reason it tends to fit a wider range of operations than a single-product spec sheet would suggest, is that the chamber is decoupled from the heating system. You pick the heating option that matches your product specs and your local utility economics:
All three options run on 400V three-phase, 50 Hz or 480V three-phase, 60 Hz. The heat pumps recycle their own heat through a closed refrigeration loop and operate without an exhaust stack, while the indirect gas option keeps combustion completely separate from the drying chamber air, important for food-safety auditors and for any product where flavor or aroma fidelity matters.

In all of these applications, the 100-Series gives you the same precision-control and remote-monitoring story as the larger 200-Series chambers, just at a footprint and price point that’s easier for a growing producer to commit to.
