Jon and Forest’s Graduating Pups4Patriots Photo
I am incredibly excited to share a project that the FPSA Pet Food Council, in partnership with the American Humane Society, has been developing. We are in the early stages of a philanthropic campaign called “Walk4Patriots,” and I am truly proud of what we are building together.
For me, this project is more than just a campaign; it’s a chance to use our collective passion and resources to give back to those who have given so much. At its core, “Walk4Patriots” is a virtual Walk-A-Thon that will run from October 1st to November 1st. This initiative provides expertly trained service dogs to veterans and retired first responders facing the unseen battles of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) at no cost to them. The impact of a service dog on a hero’s life is immeasurable—it provides a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and companionship on their journey to healing.
Our mission with this campaign is to raise $30,000, which will fully fund the training and placement of one of these life-changing service dogs.
The campaign is designed for everyone to get involved, whether through individual registrations or company teams. Participants will be encouraged to raise funds and track their steps throughout the month of October, to show support for our veterans and first responders. Each mile walked represents the journey these heroes take toward healing with the help of a service dog. The campaign will conclude on the last day of the EATS show in Chicago.
We are finalizing the campaign page, with a launch in September. Watch out for upcoming announcements. Thank you for your consideration and for joining us on this meaningful journey.
